FAQ
How do I install the extension?
Firefox — from Add-ons store (recommended)
Click "Add to Firefox" above or visit the Mozilla Add-ons page. One click, automatic updates.
Firefox — manual install
- Download the .zip from GitHub and extract it
- Open Firefox and go to
about:debugging#/runtime/this-firefox - Click "Load Temporary Add-on..."
- Navigate to the extracted folder and select
manifest.json - The extension icon will appear in your toolbar
Note: Temporary add-ons are removed when you close Firefox. For permanent install, use the Add-ons store.
Chrome — manual install
- Download the .zip from GitHub and extract it
- Go to
chrome://extensions/ - Enable "Developer mode" (toggle in the top-right)
- Click "Load unpacked" and select the folder
Chrome may show a "developer mode extensions" warning. This is normal for manually installed extensions.
Edge — manual install
- Same steps as Chrome, but go to
edge://extensions/ - Enable "Developer mode" and click "Load unpacked"
Why does it say "rate limited, waiting..."?
X limits how many API requests can be made per minute. The extension handles this automatically by waiting and retrying. For accounts with many followers, this may take a few cycles.
Can I switch tabs while scanning?
Yes. The extension uses X's internal API via fetch(), which works in background tabs. If the API is unavailable, it falls back to page scrolling, which requires the tab to stay visible.
Does it work with private/protected accounts?
It works with your own account's followers page. You must be logged into X and viewing your followers at x.com/your_username/followers.
How do I clear saved data?
Click "Save Current Followers" again to overwrite the previous baseline. To delete all data, remove the extension from your browser.
